jeffr8
Hello, I recently bought a 2000 Cadillac Deville from a dealership about 90 miles away. Four days after I bought it the "Service Transmission" light came on. I e-mailed the dealership and they said they'll take care of it. They asked me to have autozone/advanced auto parts "scan the ck trans light and get us the code so we perhaps could order the part in advance to expedite the repair for you". Is there a way I can just 'scan the ck trans light' myself and see whats wrong? Thanks, Jeff

You can scan for Diagnostic Trouble Codes which is what the dealer meant to say. Here is how to do that; http://www.caddyinfo.com/readingcodes.html You and the dealer will be most interested in knowing which "P" codes are set. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE !
