BodybyFisher
Today I saw a new Pontiac G8 with headers and a full Borla exhaust at my local Cadillac dealer All I can say is WOW!!!!!! It sounded incredible. Sorry no details on HP but the owner said he feels its more powerful, it certainly sounded as mean as any muscle car I recall from the 60's The sound of this car attracted about 8 salesman.... as I walked away, I said, I do believe that GM is scratching its way back with cars like this and they all concured Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
joeb
the G8 is just another version of the gto and cts-v. same guts for the most part. there are many hotrodded versions cruising the streets. i suppose spending 2k on headers/exhaust is fun if you really want a few more horsepower. Bruce Nunnally
Very nice car, but discontinued now with the demise of Pontiac. Does make an elegant case for a CTS with an LS3 430hp engine to slot between the CTS 3.6L 304hp and the CTS-V LSA 556hp, but there is not enough pricing separation between them to stuff a model in? A maxed out CTS 3.6L runs $48K, and the CTS-V is $59-68K. Bruce 2016 Cadillac ATS-V gray/black Follow me on: Twitter Instagram Youtube
joeb
only offering the cts-v with the SC motor is like bmw only offering a M5 version of their 5 series. yes, i know it costs money to certify each car/motor combination. GM chose to only offer the cts-v in the maxed out flavor. i still want caddy to put a NS motor in the cts body. there is always the STS and STS-V. BodybyFisher
I am sure the CTS-V will be discontinued soon, I can't imagine in that climate it being continued. acarter
Maybe it can be revived here in the States as a Chevy? It's sold abroad as a Lumina SS...
Bruce Nunnally
Maybe it can be revived here in the States as a Chevy? It's sold abroad as a Lumina SS... The new Camaro SS is similar enough, and certainly a chevy, and costs $7K less than a G8 GXP. The Camaro is a 2door, but has a similar suspension and either the sweet DI 3.6L V6 or a V8. MAC
I saw a couple of 6.0L GTOs. My immediate impression is that they lack style. They are very plain looking, especially for something with a 6.0L engine.
KenD
My friend is the VP at the local Chevy dealership here and when I had my car in for heater pipes, he let me have his G8 6.0 which is his dealer ride. All I can say is that this thing was scary fast. Camaro engine, rear wheel drive (I forgot how fun RWD was!) and light weight. Problem with this car was that it was so plain jane it was not even close to what the sticker price entailed. That was disappointing. But man was this car FAST! 1994 STS Pearl White 260,000 KM (163,000 miles) <img src="http://img45.photobucket.com/albums/v137/caesar/caddycaesar.jpg" border="0" class="linked-sig-image" />
