barkboy6
How can I clean the throttle body? I've done it before when I first bought my car, but I don't want to make any dumb mistakes. What kind of cleaner should I use and what all should I clean? Can I clean the MAP sensor as well? Ranger
They make a TB cleaner. I still use Gumout carb cleaner because I still have some. Clean the TB bore & throttle plate (incl the perimeter). Leave the sensors alone.
airmike
I cleaned my throttle body today-WOW-what a mess!! that was a putty knife job not a brush and cleaner. 193,000 miles-I guess it has a right to be dirty
Ranger
Yup. Do it every spring and it will be a piece of cake.
