tut
Hello Boys: Have a 94 STS impecably maintained with 65K miles and the power steering is howling and will not turn the wheels at low speeds. Talked to the tech and it seems just before I got the car it had a new Delco PS pump and Mevotech rack installed, a matter of apparent mis-diagnosis. The howling stayed and the car did not steer better at low speeds (ie. until it gets say 1400 rpm or better). Next stop is apparently the variable speed assist system about which I know nothing and therefore may be subject to a snow job and further mis-diagnosis. That can hurt at $90 per hour. Can anybody offer any advice on this one. You boys are smart. Thanks in advance. Tut.
