Topcat9pet Posted August 18, 2009 Report Share Posted August 18, 2009 I had the rear main oil seal replaced in This '96 STS and since that time The cruise control has been inop. and code 1574 sets on each Ign. cycle. The cruise module, multifunction switch and both switches on the brake pedal bracket have been replaced with new. Brake lights work normally. No other codes set. Run the wiring with power, nothing abnormal noted. Voltage, grounds and switches appear to be working as normal. When you drive the car above 25MPH and set the cruise sw. nothing happens. stsjoe Posted August 18, 2009 Report Share Posted August 18, 2009 Don't think this will help but when mine died everything looked fine (had the cruise engaged message) turned out the cable going to the intake had snapped.
