badrhino
As some of you may already know from other postings....that I am having starting issues in the morning before the car has been warmed up. After the car is already been running or has ran the car starts without a problem. Someone had sugggested switching relays between the fuel pump and possibly the A/C to see if the relay was bad if they were the same. I looked under the hood and I can't seem to find the relay for the Fuel Pump. Can anyone tell me exactly where it is and which one it is. I looked in the fuse box and couldn't tell which one it was. When you turn the key on I definitely don't hear any fuel pump noise. Any suggestions? Today is the day you were worried about yesterday!
lothos
I'm not sure which place it's located at. In my 1995 STS I have fuses under the hood on the drivers side, under a flap that pulls up. That whole thing comes off and there are some bigger fuses/relays under it. I also have fuses in my trunk, on the drivers side wall. Hope that helps some. WARNING: I'm a total car newbie, don't be surprised if I ask a stupid question! Just trying to learn. Cheers! 5% discount code at RockAuto.com - click here for your discount! winterset
the fuel pump reay & AC relay are next to each other in the fuse pannel above the drivers side front wheel (that's how it is on my '96 deville). they were also taped in with black electrical tape. on the back of the door, you will see a schematic. just pull them out after you cut the tape. badrhino
I went to the fuse block on the passenger side engine compartment. How many darn fuse boxes are there? lol I'll look tomorrow in the other suggested spots. Thanks! Today is the day you were worried about yesterday! BodybyFisher
Open the gas cap, and put your ear near it when someone else turns on the key. It should run when you turn the key on. I can hear mine from my drivers seat when I turn the key. You might also, attach a fuel pressure gage and see what happens when you turn the key on, cold. It should jump up to greater than 40 psi immediately Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
