seabass Posted June 14, 2004 Report Share Posted June 14, 2004 O.k. dont know what the fix is but this is the problem , when I hit the remote to unlock the doors it will not unlock the passenger door , but if I lock it it will lock , there must be some mechanism that makes it lock and unlock , is there an easy fix for this or do I need a new part ? I recall it was something simple but don't quote me on that. It will power lock OK, and I can manually slide the lock to the unlocked position. When I try to power unlock, I can see the slider wiggle a bit as if it's trying to move... Anyone know the procedure for removing the necessary panels to get at the slider without busting anything up? If it's a bad solenoid or something, is this available anywhere other than the dealer? And here is Logans response: Classic example.....I am waiting for the ones on my SLS to fail. I have had to replace all 4 on our Bonneville. Common GM problem. The problem is the door lock acuator. This is the door lock/unlock solenoid. This is replaced as a complete unit. It is the actual unit that is bolted to the door and holds the door shut on the body stud. About $75 for pontiacs (which may work on the cadillacs..you may want to look into) God only know how much a Cadillac dealer wants....you may want to check some Delco warehouses. About an 1 1/2 hour job each door.
