KHE
so, then why not run the green antifreeze? you may just have to change it more often than the dexcool, but the issues that the dexcool has presented, i'd rather run the green and avoid the issues altogether. i have a 96 grand am gt with a 3100 v6, dexcool car. after i did both head gaskets, ported the heads, swapped to the big port 2000+ up 3100 intake, ported the intake, there was no way i was running dexcool after the damage i saw to the gaskets and the metal. the northstar is going green......... Run green antifreeze in the 93 car as the internals of the cooling system are plated with silicates. There would be no benefit to using Dex in a car that was contaminated with green, silicated antifreeze. In the 98, run Dexcool - far less abrasive to the waterpump seal, extended change intervals. Personally, if I were looking for a used Cadillac that was 1996 or newer and it had green coolant, I'd pass it up and keep looking....
