trip thru michigan

my dad is retired and drives for a local dealer. we live in MN but have been picking up a lot of cars from auction houses in michigan. i went over with him last week to ferry home a few and had a good time driving thru all the familiar named towns. battle creek, lansing, flint, saginaw, bay city. i kept thinking of all the towns named after car parts and than realized it was the other way around. windsor, cleveland, muncie. lots of GM and ford history here. huge delphi plants, eaton plants, you name it. just driving thru a rail yard with thousands of cars of various brands is cool. rows of caddies, corvettes, mustangs. but lots of boarded up buildings too.

That sounds like an interesting trip.

Those names that cars and car parts were named after....you are right. There is a lot of history there.

I have thought of doing something like that for several years, but never got around to actually DOING IT. :D

Seems like an ideal car-related retirement job.

Yes, I thought of that when I had my car in for service. I already have my local Caddy dealership staked out! B)

Never underestimate the amount of a persons greed.
