concourse A/C

96 concourse A/C ...... troubleshooting a leak want to recharge and add tracer dye .

ProblemA/C compressor will not engage pressure reading is (static) @40psi ....anyone know how to "force" compressor on .... there are several "sensors" in Hi side line- before and after Otube as well as What I believe is a 2 wire compressor cycling switch at accumulator....

showing a code AC 1347 looking for some direction....

The 1347 code is the "very low refrigerant code". Get the refrigerant can all hooked up, bleed the air from the hose and then clear the code in diagnostics. Then start the car and it should pull in the refrigerant.

Don't jumper/short any of the sensors - that will only cause further problems.

what I learned....to erase ac codes disconnect battery... without an ac code the compressor will engage be all set up to recharge on restart...

anyone know the details on the heater controls OBD interface - especially erasing codes?

You can disconnect the battery - that will erase the code but you can also erase the code via diagnostics. If your car has the dual climate control, simultaneously press and hold the OFF and PASSENGER WARMER button to enter disgnostics. If just a single climate control system, use the OFF and WARMER buttons. Use the fan up/dn button to answer yes/no respectively. When PCM? comes up, press fan down until ACM? is displayed. Then press fan up. ACM CODES? will be displayed. Press FAN Up and then the ACM codes will be displayed followed by CLEAR ACM CODES. Press fan up to clear the code and then press AUTO to exit.
