bschelle
I want to go to the brighter headlights on my 91 Eldo. I went on line and ordered the bulbs from NAPA. Their listing said 9005 for dims and 9006 for highbeams. Got the lights, took out the headlight assy. and they are not the same bulb design. My bulbs are striaght connector and the ones from NAPA are 90 degrees. My old bulbs are 9004 in the dims and highs. When I look for the brighter bulbs at other sites they all say 9005 & 9006. Am I supposed to retro these to make them work or should I just order the bright 9004's ?
JasonA
Order the 9004s, if that's what's in there now. Some earlier cars with capsule bulbs (like a '91 model, apparently) didn't use the standard 9005/6 pair like most use today. bschelle
Thanks Jason, I will do it today!
danbuc
Just a thought. Generally the 9006 bulbs are used as low beams and 9005 are used as the high beams and are smaller. Try reversing them.
bschelle
No dice!! The 9005/9006 are definetly not the correct ones for my 91 Eldo. I got a pair of 9004's and they are the ones for my car. Maybe there is an early and late model for my year.
