yahbblack
Can this be replaced with the transaxle in the car? I have the trans pan dropped, and can see what is broken on he original solenoid, but I can't find the clip to release the solenoid body from the transmission. Is it internal? That is a cracked shift solenoid and its the reason your tranny is defaulting to second gear. You need to remove the lower valve body, but be careful there are check balls the MUST be put back in the same location. Also, MAKE SURE you use the new bracket that comes with the new solenoid. Replace both of them, there is a shift solenoid kit at the dealer, and change the filters and pan SEAL, dont use a CORK gasket, use the proper seal. Do a search here under shift solenoids there should be a lot of info for you to access, Mike Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
