JimD
One thing you can do is display the Diagnostic Trouble Codes; here's how http://www.caddyinfo.com/readingcodes.html You will be most interested in "B" codes. Another srep that is worth trying is slowly (like one degree at a time) changing the selected temperature through the entire range from 60 degrees to 90 degrees. Do this several times. Post the codes here and tell us what you learn. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE !

jayburna688
the code that came up current was IPM B1317 Live Fast Drive Luxuriously
JimD
B1317 - In Car Air Temperature Sensor I believe there is only one of these is your year-model and it is behind the ~~1" square vent panel between the steering column and the headlamp switch. There is a fan that pulls air across the sensor. Do you know if that fan is operating? Pull the end panel from the dash to gain access to the fan and sensor. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. jayburna688
i found it but dont kno exactly how 2 access it. so im guessin if this is not able to verify the cabin temp. is cold it will constantly blow cold air? JimD
i found it but dont kno exactly how 2 access it. Open the driver's door and inspect the outboard end of the instrument panel. You will see an access panel that can be removed. so im guessin if this is not able to verify the cabin temp. is cold it will constantly blow cold air? The cabin air temperature sensor (resistor) is reporting the wrong value to the temperature control module. Try operating the HVAC in a <MODE> other than AUTO and see if that delivers a little more heat. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE ! jayburna688
My battery is dead still but after I put the wire back in the sensor am annoying sound was comin from that fan motor or whatever it is back there that is now connected... I think the place I got it from took the wire off so they could sell it because they kno most people wouldn't buy it. So is there any idea wat the noise might be? it sounds like somethins tryin to move but can't. I have a feeling replacing it is a pain in the *smurf*.... BodybyFisher
The term strange noise is not specific enough. Give us more detail, about the strange noise. Is the motor turning? You say your battery is still dead. You might be hearing the MOTOR trying to turn and there is not enough current to turn it and you are hearing noise instead, it might be humming or buzzing, and you are hearing the electro magnetic field with low current. Charge the battery before you damage the motor Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

JimD
That wire was probably disconnected to stop the fan motor from making the noise. It is not unusual for that motor to be noisy in colder climates. The fix might be as simple as removing the entire fan assembly and working a drop or two of machine oil into the motor bushing. Another repair I have seen is to locate a 12 Volt computer fan that is close to the same size. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE !
