DaveCarter
$40.00 for a rebuild seems high. I just replaced my blown front door speakers on 2003 Seville. GM ones are only $50.00 apiece.

Replacing the speakers is one thing, but I think KHE is speaking about having the BOSE amp rebuilt, but Kevin (KHE) will comment on that Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
WarrenJ
Rebuilding a "Bose Speaker" most often has nothing to do with the speaker itself, but rather relates to the electronics; several capacitors need to be replaced. Still, $40 is cheap. Regards, Warren There is no means of avoiding the final collapse of a boom brought about by credit expansion. KHE
The Bose speaker has been discontinued by GM. Brasingtons can get it from a surplus shop that bought a bunch of GM inventory for $250.... no thanks. I found one for $200 at a surplus shop in Wisconsin (probably the same one Brasingtons would use). The electronics in the amp are fine - the speaker just buzzes. The voice coil is distorted - when pushed up and down with finger pressure, the scratching noise can be heard. The other rear speaker is fine - no scratching noise. All considered, $40 seems like a deal compared to the other alternatives.
