PAUL T
Alright guys I need help figuring out where this hose goes to. O.K. Here is a picture of the EVAP Canister Purge Solenoid (lower left) and the EVAP Vacuum Switch (upper right) out of my 97 Deville. I can not find a good picture in the manual, can anyone tell me what is connected into the Vacuum Switch hose shown coming out the side of the switch (upper right)? I thought the hose to the EVAP canister went into it but it is connected to the Canister Purge Solenoid (lower left). Jim_97_ETC said it goes to the throttle body but I can not find an open orfice on the throttle body. Check yours and get back to me. A picture or diagram would help. Ranger
I can't recall what my '97 looked like. Are you sure that is not the vent? That said, I thought the vent tube was a 90* elbow in the back. What makes you think something is missing?

I am working on trying to fix a hard cold start, FPR is not leaking. I am suspecting a vacuum leak somewhere.
Ranger
I would suspect fuel pressure more than a vacuum leak. Why do you suspect a problem with the valve? Has it alway been that way? Has it been removed lately to give you reason to doubt that it was put back on correctly?

BodybyFisher
I think that is a vent. Put your finger over it as you rev the engine both cold and warmed up do you feel a vacuum? BodybyFisher
From what I can see, and the 96 is different, my manual calls that the EVAP Purge Vacuum Switch. Only one vacuum hose is shown connected to it Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
