ok i started having problems with a check engine light so i scanned and came up with code po 741 and drivability issues so i repalced the tcc and all shift selinoids filter fluid ect.

put car back together and drove everything exelent drove 10 mile no problems.

then after cooling 45 min drove about 25 min check engine light came on scanned and got code po717b in. shaft speed sensor after reading posts ddecided to clean connections first then (after that did not help) replaced the sensor once again put car back together this time drove 50 miles no problems then i noticed a hard shift off of a stop light used my scanner and no code but input speed sensor stoped reading.

still no codes drove home no check engine light just sensor not reading. on the way home hit a pot hole in the road check engine light came on checked codes.

no active codes but history codes po717 so again went home and cleand connections.

started vehicle and drove about 10 miles with scanner reading the iss no problems then dash information center said service theft system and the dash went bezerk the digital dash started reading all over the board the speed o went crazy up to 150 mph and the voltage went nuts from 14.7 running to 12 volts and up and down t this point i also should mention that my scanner said that it lost the connection of and on over and over again.

drove home again tested battery it was reading low charge connected to the car so i charged it overnight.

tested it in the car and no cranking amps but voltage was 12.96.

replaced the battery and checked the cables removed the insulators over the cable ends all look great.

bought a new battery form vic alfonso cad. installed it and it said same thing no cold cranking amps so not thinking i returned it and was given a new one this time i tested it before i installed it 12.56 volts and 1096 cold cranking amps. checked every plug and wire harness i could find checked fuses and fuse box connections , grounds connections in engine compartment ,under dash, under seats ect. i am afraid to conncet the 2nd new battery until i find the problem as i have connected it short periods and voltage readings varry some but cca stays at 0.

anyone know what iam missing any help with this nightmare would be a big help.

very frustrated here.

thank you

There could be a clue waiting in the "B" (body) or "C" (chassis) codes. Here is how to display them in the car;

Typical aftermarket code readers only display "P" codes and your problem obviously resides elsewhere.

Good luck....

Explain how you changed the TCC and ISS sensor, did you drop the engine carriage or tilt the engine? Did you mess with the relay center on the driver side wheel well? I had to disconnect the positive battery cable from that center when I tilted my engine carriage. Explain

You should NOT have gotten the ISS sensor code after you replaced it. What gap did you use? Did you use an OEM sensor?

I am VERY confused by what you mean by, I am reluctant to connect the battery for fear you will short it. EXPLAIN what is happening. Could the positive cable have melted against the exhaust manifold? There are positive cables that connect to the alternator and relay center on the drivers side wheel well

You are saying the CCA is ZERO

Are you trying to say that when you turn the key NOTHING HAPPENS?

What makes you think you will short the battery if you connect it? Have you checked the positive cable to see if its shorted someplace?

ok i am getting an arc at the battery after my nightmare last drive when the instrument went close in counters on me as for the relay centers i have checked all of the wiring at the centers and all of the connections under the relay centers where they go into the relay boxes as for the iss and tcc i used factory parts and droped the cradle as i have a snap on lo rise lift i removed all connections in the way and drained the coolant

as for the air gap i used a trans rebuild book special to the transmission because mitchell did not list it.

thank you for your help all

You need to figure out why you are getting an arc at the battery, it has to be related to the positive cable being shorted some place, the positive cable goes to the starter, alternator and relay center, check those leads carefully.

So you say that when you connect the battery it arcs badly?, this is odd, as I am surprised that you are not starting a fire because the positive cable is shorted.

ok update when the fuse boxes are disconnected and the battery cables connected i get a voltage drop of .4 volts and about 100cca drop but when i connect either fuse box i get a minor arc like somthing is trying to power and then with no key in the ingition i test the battery with a midtronics tester connect the fuse boxes and get no 0 cca at the battery it does not seem to make a difference if on or both fuse boxes are connected same results

sorry when i remove power leads from both fuse boxes i can test with cables on the battery the test reads 100 cca voltage drop at eather end of the cable but i do have cca but when 1 or both fues boxes are connected to power than i get 0 cca with or without the alt wire at the underhood fuse box
