You sure enough have a tiger by the tail with that code! In many years of reading/participtaing in Cadilac forums, I have not seen a report of P1810.

First thing I would do is clear the code and see if it sets again as a confirmation. Several times.

Second, I would inspect the chassis wiring - connectors at the PCM and transaxle.

P1810 relates to a multi-position switch in the transaxle that reports the position of a valve.

Thanks for the info I have cleared this code several times and it will not go away. The car will not engage into any gear. I have checked the wiring but will double check it just in case. I know this code is for the TFP Valve Position Switch Circuit. Where is it located in the tranny. Any more suggestion on what to check before I have the tranny pulled.

Where should I start in trying to troubleshoot this code. I have a 1999 Cadillac STS.
