BodybyFisher
what about the idle speed control motor or the idle air control valve? I also removed the throttle body and Im looking inside the intake manifold and it's covered in black oily soot. Is this normal or should the intake be taken out and cleaned too? What you see inside the intake is normal, it is EGR condensate and it just settles, the guru said to ignore it Did you put a fuel pressure gage on the engine to see how your fuel pressure is? BodybyFisher
is there one gasket I have to replace or two? I've replaced the one on the throttle body itself but is there one that goes from the intake to the TB? If there is I didnt see one when I took off the intake I replaced that gasket also, the dealer had it. Are you talking about the white seal? 98deville
Mine looks different, looks like this one which I replaced and it goes to the TB itself. I was just wondering if there is another seal that goes in between the intake & TB. Either way I took everything out and finally got the seal that got sucked in there... Cadillac Jim
I would make sure that none of them are Current, reset them all, and see what comes back. The only one that bothers me is the U1000. Which module threw the code? -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars. The only one that bothers me is the U1000. Which module threw the code? I had two, one was IPC U1000 and the other was RIM U1000. The car still jerks and idles high while coming to a stop, on occasions the rpms will stay at 1500 to 2000. Even while driving - If I'm going 40mph all of a sudden you feel a little jerk and it seems as if the cruise control is on becuase the car will stay going at 40 even with foot off pedal. BodybyFisher
I don't like the Class 2 Communication Malfunction. Im going to look in my 96 manual, I know its not an 03 manual, but maybe it will shed some light on what is going on. Is the original radio in this car or do you have an aftermarket? Do your steering wheel radio controls work? These are unrelated questions I know but I am probing. DDM & PDM - B3832 If you try to open or close the windows and they are iced up the auto up/down system fails and generates a code... clear and ignore... very common... You get this error if you disconnect the battery for any reason do these steps: The following steps explain how to program the side door window regulator motors: Press and hold the power window switch until the window is fully DOWN. Continue holding the power window switch for approximately 3 seconds. Press and hold the power window switch until the window is fully UP. Continue holding the power window switch for approximately 3 seconds. The power window regulator motor is now programmed for the express function. Repeat this process for all of the power windows. And clear the history code.
