Bweezy311
I'm slowly but surely getting all my problems fixed with my car! Next on my list is to replace a blown rear bose 6x9 on my 92 STS. I had called Best Buy to see if they knew but told me about figuring out the ampage and wattage and stuff...but I'm not going to try and act like I know electronics and proper ohms and stuff so my best bet is to just ask someone who might have done it. So...I'm replacing a rear bose 6x9 (I know I'll probably have to buy a set), what would be my best option? I love the quality and deep bass the bose deliever so I want to stay on par. Thanks, -Ben
BodybyFisher
You are going to need to stay with the Bose speaker, I don't think you can plug anything in there. I had a NON Bose system and put in 5 1/4 and 6x9 Cerwin Vega speakers from this place http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12086_...ga+Vega+69.html See this link, Bose Replacement Speakers might be available http://carstereohelp.net/gotquestionsQ19.htm Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
thaghost87
Also check gmpartsdirect.com they may have the bose speaker that blew. You might have to email them to get hte part number.
kens96
Might not be the speaker but the amp itself. Each Bose Speaker has its own amp. Search the Web, there are places you can send the speaker to for an amp repair or replacement. I had to this on an 86 Corvette I owned.
Bweezy311
My speaker makes a noise like a dj scratching a record really fast so I'm guessing it might be the amp then. Thanks for the website BodybyFisher. I'll probably end up sending it to them. I'll check first to see if there is anything closer to me, if not I'll go with them. Thanks. kens96
Here is who I sent my speakers to to have then repaired. http://www.doctordons.com/ He is very honest and stands behind his work. He might suggest that the rear pair be done together. Iwish I had listened to him when my system started acting up. I lost the rear right speaker amp and had only that one replaced only to have to sent the left rear a few weeks later.
