Bruce Nunnally
Got in some Meguiar's Cleaner Wax today. The recently applied NXT is doing well for now, so I'll probably wait and try the Cleaner Wax with a coat of NXT on top next time I wax. As we have discussed, a polish has some abrasive or cleaning capability. A wax coats and protects the paint. A combination cleaner and wax as in the aptly named "Cleaner Wax" has both. Confusingly, Meguiar's NXT and has some cleaning aspect and wax mixed as well, and the Gold Class does also. So it is a matter of degrees apparently. A pure polish has the most cleaning ability, followed by the cleaner wax, which is a mix of polish and wax, followed by waxes like NXT or Gold Class which have the least cleaning aspect. Now the really confusing part is when you want to LAYER a wax, you really don't want it to have a cleaning aspect, as then it will tend to remove the previous wax instead of go on on top of the prior wax. I do feel that the NXT layered well enough on the NXT, and I plan to try the Cleaner Wax with a layer of NXT over it next to see how that does in real life. Bruce Nunnally
Careful. I went out to just clean the bugs off my windshield and ended up washing and waxing the Cadillac. It can happen. Bruce 2023 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Follow me on: Twitter Instagram Youtube
