wfpd39
A friend of mine that has a 1996 DeVille is currently receiving trouble codes affecting the traction control and ABS warning lights. The trouble codes are TC0025 (LF wheel speed sensor fault) and TC0027 (LF wheel speed sensor fault continuity). Any advise on cause and what need to be done to repair? Thanks! The trouble codes are TC0025 (LF wheel speed sensor fault) and TC0027 (LF wheel speed sensor fault continuity). Any advise on cause and what need to be done to repair? Thanks! There is an issue with the LF wheel speed sensor (obviously) I would guess there is an open in the wire (broken wire) since there is not continuity (I think this is what the code is saying) I just had an issue with my LF wheel speed sensor, and it ended up being a broken wire, which I had to patch. I would start by cleaning the connection at the hub, and also check the sensor with a DMM for resistance across the sensor and voltage while the hub is spun. My FSM had ranges to compare these numbers to. If your friend is not mechanically inclined, take it to a good backyard mechanic and tell him to find the break. Good Luck, I will post the pictures from my wire fix when I get home, you just reminded me I never posted them. Jonah
Ranger
As STSS stated, check the obvious, loose or corroded connector or broken wire. More likely though it is a bad wheel speed sensor. It is integral to the hub & bearing assembly which will have to be changed.
Logan
The ABS signal is AC voltage. So the wires should be twisted. Sounds like the sensor has gone. Very early versions had rebuildable ABS /hubs. These have been gone for 10 years+. If everything looks ok, replace the hub bearing. Texas Jim
when the light is on my car lags wont take off how it normally does. When the light is on... it is taking off in SECOND GEAR... not FIRST GEAR.
