MAC
While driving to work this morning my right side front wheel shifted and made a popping sound. And when I accelerate and the front end lifts there is a popping sound. Also, when I make a left turn the right wheel shifts and makes a popping sound. And when I make a left turn there is squeaking which never goes away. Even when driving normally there is squeaking. I checked the ball joint and it seems to be fine. Also, I just replaced the inner tie rod and the outer rod was replaced about a year ago. Also, the hub/bearing is new. So all in all, it seems there is a strut problem whether a worn strut mount, bearing or strut. I would appreciate any suggestions.
KHE
It almost sounds like a bad CV joint. Kevin '93 Fleetwood Brougham '05 Deville '04 Deville 2013 Silverado Z71
thaghost87
What do you mean by "when I make a left turn the right wheel shifts"? do you have "play" when you turn? When my rack and pinion broke i started getting a popping sound when i turned, i could also feel it in the steering wheel. I had a lot of play in my wheels. I also needed a CV joint. When my rack and pinion broke i started getting a popping sound when i turned, i could also feel it in the steering wheel. I had a lot of play in my wheels. I also needed a CV joint. During lunch I checked the Control Arm rod nut which secures the bushing. It vibrated off. This is why I noticed shifting when making turns. Luckily the bushing didn't fall off and since I have a metal washer all I need is to buy a new nut. Would anyone happen to know what size nut including pitch? Anyway, I also pushed the front end down and it seems to be fine--no bouncing indicating a worn strut. But something definitely is wrong besides the need to secure the Control Arm rod. The other day when jacking it up to replace the brakes I heard a popping sound.

MAC
Last night I fixed the Control Arm problem. However, there is still creaking/squeaking. From what I can detect, the squeaking seems to be coming from the engine cradle mount connection to the body on the right side. The rubber insulator/bushing needs to be replaced. From what I can tell, I can see/feel no obvious play in the CV joint. And I didn't detect a problem with the rack when I replaced the right side inner tie rod a couple of weeks ago. I also have to replace the Control Arm rod bushing on the left side as well. I checked the ball joints a few times for play and found none. I also bought new sway bar bushings.
