Mark3601
Can anyone tell me how to reset the tpms on my 05 DTS? my tires were rotated and it looks like they never rest the system at the dealer. The reason I am saying this is for the last week I kept getting right rear tire low check tire. but when I did it was fine right at 30 psi. will the other day I was washing the car and because of the warning check all the tires and when I did this the two left were ok, right rear was ok but right front was at 22 psi. my feeling is rightfront must have bee the right rear. so how can I reset all the tires to get them to read the right tire so next time I can fix the right one if I get a low tire warning again. JimD
I think this will work on an '05 model; Use a fairly strong magnet. 1) Ignition ON. 2) Press LOCK + UN-LOCK key fob buttons until the horn chirps. 3) Starting with LF tire, hold the magnet against the valve stem for 3 or 4 seconds until the horn chirps. Then RF, then RR, then LR. After LR, horn will chirp twice to indicate programming is complete. There is a timer running that allows 1 minute between wheels and 5 minutes total elapsed time. hangar18valk
i posted this back in July (2002 STS): Thanks to previous posters who suggested the magnet trick. Here are the steps I followed: 1. Turn key "ON" 2. Press both "lock" and "unlock" buttons on the key fob until the horn chirps 3. Hold a strong magnet onto the LF (left front) valve stem, for a few seconds, until the horn chirps 4. Repeat on the other wheels - clockwise, in order - RF, RR, LR (although the DIC scroll order is LF, RF, LR, RR) 5. After the LR is done, horn chirps twice, indicating "reprogramming" (re-learning) is complete Someone suggested to get "strong magnets" from old harddrives...well they were right! Those little guys are strong, and worked perfectly. I have two now...I'll be glad to mail them to whoever needs them, just PM me. Hope they won't get stuck in the Post Office's mail sorter... hangar
