Autotap

Recommended Posts

I spent some time yesterday reading the Autotap manual and finally got it to output the GM Enhanced Parameters. The Enhanced parameters are quite extensive, what you see below is about 10 seconds of output, the spreadsheet is huge for a 3 minute ride. I am still trying to figure out how these figures could be beneficial in helping me diagnose problems. I am thinking that I could run and save a 'baseline' analysis, and then IF something goes wrong, I would run a second analysis and then compare the two runs.

I have an email out to Autotap to ask them some questions. I have to go back to the FSM, I think I recall seeing "NORMS" for the various parameters, if that info is available, a comparison of THIS info with the FSM normal ranges would be helpful. If you are interested in doing some more research on this go to www.autotap.com. If you can not read this even enlarging it, copy it to your hard drive and view it with a photo viewwe, you can zoom in better.

I personally think the ability to run this analysis and view and export this information is very helpful.

You could enter the data from the FSM and do a comparison. Since the FSM has express normal limits on many measurements, an Excel equation could flag any that are out-of-spec on a third sheet.

A scan of the FSM with OCR might capture most of the data. If you have it on CD-ROM in PDF, you may be able to find a better way to get the data out of the PDF file.

I have not looked at the FSM yet, but yes as I mentioned above, that is what I plan to do. I spoke to the tech from Autotap and he agreed that running a 'baseline' analysis a couple of times a year (different seasons) from a cold startup through closed loop would be very helpful as a comparison when something does go wrong.. Thanks, this will be a big job the first time but after that, it would be easy.
