Why does your door opener need rolling codes? Have you seen this info? Texas Jim
thanks mike now im totally confused i have a 99 but my garage door opener does not have rolling codes which one would u suggest johnnydone, I just read some of the e-bay adds. The way "I" understood them... some of the older Homelinks, CAN NOT do the rolling codes that the newer openers use, but the newer Homelinks can do BOTH Rolling Code AND NON Rolling Code doors. I would lean towards getting one that can do BOTH. Rolling Codes and NON rolling Codes. (assuming that is possible.) Your old opener may have to be replaced someday and then the Homelink will still work with the new opener without having to buy another Homelink. I am not SURE, but I DON'T THINK my old garage door opener had rolling codes. It was about 8 or 10 years old. Maybe thats why my Homelink worked on both it and the new opener which DOES have Rolling codes. I programmed my first 2006 DTS Homelink to the first opener with no problem. After I got the second 2006 DTS...I programmed it to the new opener, which DOES HAVE rolling codes. I have the second button pregrammed to my brothers garage door. Soon will program the third button to my sons garage. (He just bought a new house)

KHE
The three button openers with the yellow/amber LED will work with rolling codes. The older three button openers with the red LED will not work with rolling code openers. I'm not sure of the two/three wire thing. Are you referring to the traces on the circuit board? Either way, I don't think it makes any difference - the openers will work in any Cadillac that has the receptacle between the visors - all the way back to 1980 or thereabouts. JohnnyG
MY old '99 STS Homelink would work with rolling codes, and was programmed with the remote opener. My new '08 will also work with rolling codes, but needs to be programmed with the button on the back of the actual opener. A small difference of course, but it obviously depends on which Homelink version you have. I have a funny feeling that the Devilles at that time weren't getting the "highest tech" stuff, but the Sevilles were. My 99 STS had the yellow/amber LED's. Never underestimate the amount of a persons greed.
