Refraining from odd post replies

Recommended Posts

I, am a self proclaimed and a known nut here ...

and, put simply ... Lane ain't sane ...

but what I find interesting here is this, from your first post ...

"thought i fixed yesterday ran fine for 1.5 hours "

And, I would like, more input here like how many miles on your car

and so such ...

and, right off the top of my head ... forget about a thermostat problem

and, maybe the fans too ... it ran fine for a hour and a half ... right ???

but, like I said, I need more input ...

And, for that hour and a half were you driving on a super highway

or was that city driving ???

as/in, stop and go or cruising ???

as usual I can't sleep, and sometimes you guys

don't help too much, because you seemingly,

are thinking too hard ... and it makes my head hurt ...

isn't this, the same board, where someone said

my car won't start and could it be because I am out of gas ???

and no one said, put some gas in it, before asking a BS question like that ...

and that, was my first thought by the way, but then I am am idiot ...

instead, everybody thought too hard and said things like ...

if, all the green wires are not properly grounded then your launch control

module will not function on ignition or so such ...

and if I remember right , he just needed to top it off ...

old school ... guys ... come on ...

catmendo/Lane, I have sat back and stared at these two posts from you and scratched my head. My initial impression was to wipe them off (if you look, I am now part of caddyinfo.com's staff).

You continue to use this self-depreciating, agitating style "I, am a self proclaimed and a known nut here ...and, put simply ... Lane ain't sane ...".

If you are going to be a productive member of this group, you need to moved forward, and offer well thought out, coherent advice. We used to have a member here, THE FRED, who used to post all hours of the night, during drinking binges and I must say, I was embarrassed for him, please don't go there, you have already stated that you had too much to drink in a prior thread. In addition, a few members suspect that you might be The Fred. Let me say, that is NOT a good thing LANE. Please move forward from those dog fights, your continual 'pouring salt into the wound' just agitates the situation for no reason. You told me yourself you refused to let faceless text bother you, well its time as YOU say to man up.

Listen, I am older than YOU, and I will say this, virtually ALL of my OLD SCHOOL knowledge was USELESS when I started working on my 91 Seville and especially when I work on my 96 Northstar. I have said many times, I needed to RE-LEARN everything with the 4.9 and especially the NS. Don't get me wrong my historical experience helps a lot, but everything has changed. I myself am no longer old school.

I don't know if you realize it, but you are you minimizing/criticizing the help that I/we provided here, with this statement. "forget about a thermostat problem and, maybe the fans too". First off, he replaced the thermostat, I don't think anyone is suggesting that he replace the thermostat, and we disuaded him from doing so. Secondly, forget the fans? So you are saying for this owner to ignore MY suggestion (and Marika's find) that the P1660 - Cooling Fan Control Circuit HISTORY code is something that this member must investigate? A history code can mean that the PROBLEM is INTERMITTENT. An intermittent problem WOULD explain WHY it runs OK sometimes.

Let me say this, IF you are going to contradict a prior member's post, 1) it must be done tactfully, and 2) you should supply facts and support. I believe this member has a bad relay with burned contacts, that when its it suppose to be engaged, the fault line is NOT seeing the expected voltage result and the P1660 is set.

Now, in response to another statement you said, that again underminded this board.

isn't this, the same board, where someone said

my car won't start and could it be because I am out of gas ???

That is an insulting comment toward this board, and I take it personally. I tend to give members that visit us the benefit of the doubt here, that they have checked the basics, like having gas, turning on the key and putting the car in drive. He made the mistake NOT US! If you want to start with, put your key in the door, sit in the seat, check for gas, put the key in the ignition, turn the key to start, etc fine, but to Monday morning quarterback the direction a thread goes and be self promoting as a result is simply wrong.

Lane, my patience has run out with you, PLEASE be more tactful, respectful and stop the holier than thou criticism of everything. Outright criticism of other members, other members posts etc, will not be tolerated going forward.

jeez, I don't know what it is with me and that edit feature ...

Mike, sorry to have been a pain and since it appears that I do more

harm than good, I will go back into the lurking mode again and

keep my post to a bare minimum ...

And, I do still think that it is odd, that his car ran fine for an hour and a half ...

Again sorry ...

Lane
