Many problems have been shared here of guys who used an auto stores brand instead of the OEM AC/Delco, and they would still have charging problems after the install, they had to go back and get the AC/Delco unit. I was about ready to replace my alt. after changing the old dead battery. Was still getting that message (or something similar). But... make absolutely sure the battery connections are as clean as can be also. Especially the stacked positive connection. Pull it all apart, clean and scrub it good, piece by piece. I use a couple of different shaped wire brushes, and scrapers. I did this on mine and it was good to go after that! '09 Cadillac CTS-4 3.6 direct injection, 128 K mi.
