lothos
Both of the GB remanufactured injectors I've gotten from RockAuto leak from the nozzle. Their policy is not to send out a third replacement. I don't have the original injector anymore, so I need one before I can send these back for my refund. ACDelco lists my injectors as only being used in a 1995 Eldorado, Seville, Concourse, and Olds Aurora. There aren't any of those in the junk yards by my house. I guess my options at this point are an Autolite injector for $45, Standard Motor Products on closeout for $60, or an ACDelco for around $130. Anyone have any experience with the non-ACDelco injectors? Should I only be using an ACDelco because of the fuel flow rate and such? Thanks guys! Logan
Hmmm...leaking reman injectors? Strange. Leaking injectors are very rare right from the get go.. With the fuel rail up. Only power up the car. Do not try to start. Fuel pressure should hold for several minutes. There should be no drips. GM service manual has you believe it will hold pressure all night. I've never seen one. The big problem with reman injectors...they never flow at the same rate as the OEM ones. I've seen them with 30% off flow rates. So with reman, u cannot replace 1 or 2. It's either all of them or none. Need to replace 1? Use a GM one. But getting back to problem one. Leaking injectors? New reman ones leak too? What exactly it your testing method? There is a couple of test procedures. One is to pressurize the system, check for drips, the other is a pressure drop test using a injector driver tool. x amount of pressure drop over very short period of time, also considered a flow rate test. What is your testing procedure? lothos
What is your testing procedure? The first injector I received I just hooked up, didn't test it. I got the rough starts and exhaust smoke in the morning after two weeks or so. Figured I might have another one leaking, so I pulled the rail. Turned the key on but not the car, did that a couple times, left it on and went to the rail. Nothing had visible drips but a clean finger on each nozzle produced fuel from the reman injector. So I phoned up for a replacement. When the replacement came I plugged it into the rail and did the same test before installing it. I got fuel on my finger tip, and nothing from the other injectors. An injector from a 1996 STS wouldn't happen to work in here, would it? They look identical except the 96 has a red ring around the injector.
