BodybyFisher
It is likely that the metal rod that connects the handle to the lock assembly has come loose. The only way to determine that is to take the pad off an have a look. BodybyFisher
If it just disconnected, its a matter of just reconnecting it, should me a minimal cost if its just disconnected. Maybe someone with a 2000 manual will post a photo for you Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

Maybe someone with a 2000 manual will post a photo for you Cool.. thanks.. if you know anyone with a manual could you please ask them... and is it difficult to remove the door panel? The door panel on my 96 is very easy (as long as you are careful and use correct tools). I don't know the 2000 well enough to help. Why don't you start a new thread requesting 1) the procedure to remove the panel, and 2) a detail of the door /handle /lock /release assembly. JimD
Four screws hold the panel to the door: One at the bottom rear corner. One behind a leather flap (held by Velcro) at the door close pull. Two behind a plastic panel behind the door open handle. Remove the screws and lift the panel straight up; there is an electric harness to disconnect. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone.
