daddyandme4life
What would be the root cause of the code p086? I have a 94 concours and it wont shift past 40 mph. the car was hit on the passenger side and then i started to get all kinds of codes poping up. i saw your other responce on how to check the codes and clear them so i did that and took it for a drive. still wouldnt shift and came back with the same 86 code when i returned. I understand the computer systems are under the dash on the passenger side but are they all there and are they seperate. also would this be a transmision computer issue or the "main" PCM issue? I have changed a pcm in a neon before but that was simple. easy to get to and there was only one computer. where should i start looking to get this fixed? BodybyFisher
P086 (E086) ................... Undefined Gear Ratio (Transmission Pressure Control) Was the tranny replaced for any reason? Is is not shifting past 2nd gear? It might be bad shift solenoids or a bad pressure control solenoid Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

Were codes P028, P029, P076, P089, or P094 set? If so diagnose them first.
