bigfoo
What factory service manual should I get for my 1999 STS? I see some used ones for sale and one says K-Platform, one says V platform Is there more than one? I'm assuming the k-platform is correct but i just wanted to be sure Thanks
Ranger
I think the "'99" manual will cover them all. My '97 does. http://caddyinfo.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=1698
JasonA
In addition to what Larry said, the "K platform" is the Seville...or at least it used to be. In 1998, the Seville actually moved to a derivative of the G platform, which was the Oldsmobile Aurora. But I think for clarity's sake, they kept the designation "K" for the Seville. So if you find a '99 service manual for the K platform, it'll be correct for your car. Like Larry, I have a set of manuals for '97 and the one set covers all cars. It's titled the "E/K platform" manual set. The E is the Eldorado, the K is the Seville, and the Deville is built on a K-special platform, as I understand it. bowtie123
Hi, My 1999 (2 volume) Factory Service Manual covers the DeVille and Eldorado. There must be more than 1 set for 1999.
