fivepointohman
Its a project for sure. It requires pretty much a full teardown of the front end ( struts, etc ) to do it right and " Safely " But once you replace them, you should never have this issue again ( or at least another 15 years ) unless oil leaks on them, then your SOL.. OIL eats and ruins Rubber Bushings and components.

Thanks Fivepointohman, you hit it right on the head, engine has had oil leak on the passager side since I owned the car 67,000 miles ago, and complety melted that bushing. Once replaced, I plan to cover it in such away to seal it from the oil, You have said enough on the tear down, I think I may be a little to old to handle that at this point, so will have a garage do that. Thanks for making up my mind.
BodybyFisher
It was easy as pie. Just remove the lower control arm, take it to a machine shop that confirms they know how to do the job and have them press it in. While you are at it, you can replace your ball joints and strut rod bushings at the same time and inspect your stab links. Simple job, I have had the control arms of my 96 about 3 times and had them off my 91. Just be careful NOT to over extend the inner CV joint. When you are ready to do it I can provide details for you Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
