jomo924
well i am getting tired of the seville i think , its broken down again , no start ,,, i am getting fuel so its electrical , i am assuming of course, i pulled the distributor cap and rotor to see that all the plastic connectors in there are brittle and cracking and or half gone the wiring to module itself looks ok but all plastic connectors covering wiring are broken brittle and mostly gone even the plastic where the wires come into the distributor housing is brittle (fell apart when i touched it),,,,is this most likely my problem AND where would i get the distributor "harness" without buying a complete car harness??? sign me," about ready to put for sale sign on it"
BodybyFisher
Keep in mind that you are talking about a 16 year old car. I would replace anything that is stopping you from getting a good connection, I doubt that the dealer has a new harness but I would check them. That is a HEI ignition distributor finding wiring harnesses should be easy. Logan
The GM HEI's can get pretty bad after 16 years. Theory is...if you are getting ECM fuel pulse signal. It is working. But... a rotten/green AC coil pick up may be scattering the pulse.... Or...maybe bad coil up on top. I would think a reman distriutor to be near $100. That would fix the rotted plastics issues. As it would have a new harness... Maybe bad ECM.. Throw a scan tool on it. Tap test the ECM. 16 year old electronics..
