2006 SRX oil filter , Where is it?

I just picked up a 06 SRX , program car with 13k miles. I am looking at the owners manual and see that this V6 motor , will require Sync motor oil. Now I am looking for the spin on oil filter, don't see one. I do see on the upper part of motor , left side, a cannister with a spin on alloy cap. My thought is , it there a cartridge in there? The oil filter?

This is my second Caddy, also have 99 Eldo. Thanks

Hey, thanks Mike, Thats what I have been looking at, the cartridge adapter. I checked several parts books and kept coming back to a spin on and thats what I was looking for but could not find a spin on. Appreciate your help. I was over on the Cadillac forum but could not find any topics. Once again thanks from West Texas.

Oh that leads me to another question.

My owners manual speaks of a cabin air filter, I popped the outside cowl vent cover and its has nothing. Did they drop this for 06?

I guess you see that its not a spin on, its a cartridge like in the old days.

I would think that if you are reading about the cabin filter in your owners manual, it has one. Welcome aboard.

My '06 DTS has a cabin air filter.

If that is where it is supposed to be on yours.... it may have been dirty and the previous owner just threw it away and didn't replace it.

Some people just don't care about keeping a nice car... NICE. :)
