kevinray
Here is my dilemma: Car needed new ecm and I found one at the junk yard and installed. I tried to start car and it turned over but would not start. I was then told to replace the module with the one from the old computer ( the chip under the steel plate with two screws) and waited 15 minutes, car still did not start. One locksmith says he can get car to start and another says car has to go to the dealer, who is right?
stokes
Locksmith? If he says he can start it ,let him, gotta be cheaper than the dealer. Not sure about the 96,but on my 92 I got a Lost ECM Data code that had to be cleared after changing the ECM.Try clearing the code and then try to start it. up2ng
If it cranked then the PassKey system isn't at fault. Check for spark and fuel first, you may have picked up an incompatible ECU
