Logan
Hmm...friends down the street called this morning. Chrysler Town and Country dead at the bus stop. My wife ran her to work. Went to car. Nothing. Dead. No dash lights, no chime. Dark, dead nothing. No hint of power whatsoever... Battery, 13 volts. Fuse block 1.5 volts. Hmmm. Removed battery to rotate fuse block up for a look. Unplug main battery feed to fuse block, replug in.. Reinstall battery. Ding, ding, ding. Chime starts working. Parked car in her driveway. PAUL T
I should have PM'd Logan when my sisters Dodge Caravan's Transmission started acting up. Dodge Forum was not much help. I tried to get her to take it to a dealer for a tranny computer scan, but she ended up trading it, as is, for another van. She did not listen to her big brother, and really took a loss by trading it as is. Oh well, live and learn.

They're very helpful at those sites.
JasonA
The one I follow, and help moderate, is: http://forum.chryslerminivan.net So Logan, what was the fix? A bad connection at the base of the fuse block? What year was this T&C? Jason(2001 STS, White Diamond) "When you turn your car on...does it return the favor?" Logan
The one I follow, and help moderate, is: http://forum.chryslerminivan.net So Logan, what was the fix? A bad connection at the base of the fuse block? What year was this T&C? It's maybe a 2001-2003. I assume it was just pin oxidation. Kind of like what a fuse will do. Unplugging the feed and plugging it back in was enough to wipe it clean. Van started right up. JasonA
Thanks. The most recent generation, save for the brand new 2008 "Squaravans" was 2001-2007...and they're virtually visually identical. If it had Stow 'N Go, it was 2005-2007, but otherwise, only very small differences in wheels and body emblem placement can be used to identify any given year. I had no idea I'd turn into a Chrysler minivan 'guru', but here we are on our second one, and loving it. Jason(2001 STS, White Diamond) "When you turn your car on...does it return the favor?" Logan
It was the main battery cable supply to the fuse block. V6. With the battery removed, the fuse block is on hindge and can be released near the drivers fender. You can then rotate the fuse block over. Main battery cable went into a plug. Remove the CPA, apply pressure to the connector tab, pull out. I think there were 2 or 3 prongs. Plug back in, install battery. Chime started dinging. Car started. Fairly new car maybe 2002-2003..high option level..dvd..leather. Car was completly dead, no dome, no chime, no click, no dash lights, nada. Personally, I like that van better then the new [ ] ones. JasonA
Personally, I like that van better then the new [ ] ones. So do we. We bought a 2007 Town & Country in June 2007. Chrysler has a "Signature Series" package that includes two-tone leather seating, sunroof, DVD player, navigation, etc. It saves a few thousand over ordering those packages separately. We got ours on a great deal; sticker was $34k and change, and we paid $26k and change, all in. The only thing I couldn't get on it that I wanted was the Tow Prep group (because they were not physically making that generation van anymore, that late in the year). But I've since added the rear stabilizer bar that comes with the tow group...which is what I really wanted out of it anyway. I've followed the development of the 2008 (5th generation) vans for a while, and just could not (and still cannot) stomach the styling. Mark Gilles (of Chrysler 300 fame) was the lead designer of the 5th generation vans, and I knew that was a bad thing. On the other hand, Volkswagen has teamed with Chrysler for their 2009 Routan. The van is built in the same Chrysler minivan plant in Canada, and features the Chrysler powertrain and chassis, but features 100% VW styling and interior treatment. It's a downright gorgeous van in my opinion and really puts the Dodge/Chrysler versions to shame. We bought our 2007 BECAUSE the 2008s look like they do. We MAY have waited until '09 to buy a VW Routan if I knew what it was going to look like. Our 2003 Grand Caravan still had a lot of life left when we sold it for the 2007...only 75k miles.
