gthompson6
My 99 Seville STS (157,000 mi) began stalling at idle on occasion and when it got to be quite frequent, I figured I better do something. After searching this forum, the consensus among the many experienced members was that a dirty throttle body was most likely the culprit. So, out with the cleaner (throttle body cleaner) and toothbrush I went and cleaned er up proper. Wow, what a load of gunk ! I got in and got it clean as far as the toothrush would reach, and it looked great. After I put everything back together and let it run till it smoothed out, I took it for a ride around the block and no stalling. Now it's 2 days and a little over a hundred miles later and the same old problem is back. The car runs just fine under any kind of throttle, but at idle whether in park or drive it stalls regularly. Any ideas ? Thanks to all in advance for your efforts

Thanks to all in advance for your efforts I am not sure, but if your year has it, check the IAC (Idle Air Control), remove it, clean the pindle and clean the passages in the throttle body in the IAC location. 95SevilleSLS
As bodybyfisher said, check your codes. That will help out a lot to see if there are any codes. Make sure to pay attention if they are current or history. -Dusty- - 02 Seville STS, white diamond - 93 Sixty Special, Tan with vinyl top - 79 Coupe DeVille, Tan with Tan top - 06 GMC Sierra Z71, Black - 92 Silverado C1500, black and grey - 83 Chevy K10 Silverado, Black and Grey
Ranger
The '99 DOES have an IAC valve. Check and clean it as BBF suggested.
