notch8
Hi all Looking at an 07 cts (hi-feature), 3.6l, at, 28k miles, $24k, on a gm dealers lot. Price seems high to me, ($20k would be better). What does hi-feature mean? I don't think it has nav. or too many other goodies. How do I check the codes on this car? Anything else I should be aware of for this model? All advice is appreciated! Roger BTW- our 96 eldo, after 3 years, now has 72k on it, (57k when purchased) is a GREAT car, no problems- makes me want another Cadillac! Bruce Nunnally
I believe that the "hi feature" refers to model 1SB vs model 1SA. For 2007 the main difference between 1SA and 1SB was the 3.6L engine vs the 2.8L engine, so it really does not tell you much about which options are on this car. I don't know of a way to check on board diagnostics on a CTS after 2003. The current method is to call ONSTAR and ask them if the car is showing any codes. I would want to ensure the car is certified and has the 100K warranty: http://www.cadillac.com/cadillacjsp/cpo/advantage.jsp The dealer may claim that this adds $1,100 or so to their cost. JohnnyG
Here, this might help: http://www.caddyinfo.com/ctsyearbyyear.html My advice, hold out for a 2008. You can take that 255 HP figure and change it to 320! Direct injection you know....now THAT'S high feature Never underestimate the amount of a persons greed. Bruce Nunnally
The Direct Injection 3.6L in the 08 CTS has 304hp; the 4.6L V8 RWD Northstar in the STS has 320hp. notch8
Bruce Am I to understand, from your link, that the Cadillac "Certified" warranty states: 6yrs/100,000mile bumper to bumper warranty with no deductible? That would be better than the original factory warranty- used with a better warranty than new- I think I'm not understanding something here! Bruce Nunnally
Yes, it is a good warranty. Keep in mind that the warranty is from the original in-service date however. So for the 2007 CTS with 24K miles the warranty would be for another 5 years and 86K miles. notch8
Bruce I understand and agree with the in service date part- heres what the dealer said: 3yrs&20k left on the bumper to bumper part and 4yrs&70k left on powertrain. He said it was certified when bought from another dealer and was a program car. I highly doubt they will give 6yr/100k from original service date, as per Cadillac certified advantage. We'll see what they say-thanks Roger
JohnnyG
The Direct Injection 3.6L in the 08 CTS has 304hp; the 4.6L V8 RWD Northstar in the STS has 320hp. So, I was a little off. Still 4 more HP than the advertised 300hp, 4.6L Northstar in my 1999 STS. Not too shabby. Never underestimate the amount of a persons greed. How does the area under the WOT HP plot (between 2000 and 6000 RPM) compare? ___________________________________________________
