JohnnyG
Earlier this summer, my car developed a noticeable squeek in the front end. I'm sure it built up gradually until it finally became annoying. The noise would occur when both front wheels would hit a depression in the road at the same time, kinda like crossing a ditch or pavement cut that hadn't been completely filled back in. Usually this was most noticeable at very slow speed. During normal driving it did appear from time to time while traveling rough roads. I thought for a while it may have been a squeeky suspension position sensor, as someone else reported here a few months ago. Well, I found a spray bottle of this blue liquid stuff in my garage that a friend of mine gave me about 10 years ago. (yeah, I do stuff like that) I remember him telling me that it is what the used car dealers used to make rubber parts and black chrome look like new. I think he said they used it on interiors too, and it smelled pretty nice. Anyway, I think it was a liquid silicone based material in a pump spray bottle for lack of a better description. I had put a Duct Tape label on the bottle that said "Rubber Lube". I took this stuff and sprayed all of the rubber bushings under the front suspension and heavily coated the rubber bushing in the top of the shock towers. At first it didn't do anything.....the noise was still there on my next trip, so I did it a second time. Two weeks later when I made my NEXT trip to Pittsburgh, the noise was completely gone! I didn't even realize that I had fixed it at first, but it finally hit me that the car was MUCH quieter overall, and NO SQUEEK! Does anybody have any idea what this spray stuff might be? Moral of the story: Don't give up too quickly on the spray lubes/silcone...they might just be the answer. Never underestimate the amount of a persons greed. cyrez00
i suspect it was your stabalizer bar bushings. If you are in complete control..... you are not going fast enough....

Or they may at least hide the symptoms. What is the brand/name of this spray? Jason(2001 STS, White Diamond) "When you turn your car on...does it return the favor?" JohnnyG
What is the brand/name of this spray? I don't know, that's why I asked that same question in my original post. I was hoping that somebody may have used something similar over the years. I don't think it was the stabilizer bushings. I had worked on them seperately before this "shotgun method" with no effect. I really think it was in the shock towers, but not in the strut bearings, just the rubber parts. Never underestimate the amount of a persons greed.
