Yes its a dreaded problem that I now have to deal with. Why Cadillac designed it that way is beyond me!

yes I pulled a bonehead move and hit the bottom of the car the car on the ground pulling out of a steep driveway.

Oil was leaking every where. Trany Fluid and Oil. So both Pans are getting a Gasket job. Pans are ok. no cracks. My mechanic is not to happy with me because he is my friend and hates when I have car problems because he knows my problems are always out of the ordinary.

What is The easiest way? Do I have to remove the Tranny?

Are there some tech specifics that I could take to my mechanic?

Thank you for your help!!!

Transmission pan and gasket can be replaced while in the car.

The engine oil pan cannot be replaced while in the car. Unless you separate it from the transmission first.

Worse, if the impact was as hard as you indicate, you have likely damaged the oil manifold that is between the oil pan and the engine block.

Careful inspection is needed to these items, or you can have a catastrophic engine failure from lack of oil and/or oil pressure.

The cradle crossmember is the lowest point in the front of the car - if you hit something that hard, it would have damaged ANY car. You're not telling us the whole story...
