Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe most resonators are between the muffler and tail pipe tips. I was always led to believe they were primarily for enhancing or lowering exhaust tone. There is really not much space there on my Eldorado or your STS for that! ;)

I am putting on a set of Dynomax Superturbo's as well, just ordered them yesterday! B) I also bought some aftermarket stainless exhaust tips which are supposed to be "resonated", so we'll see if they affect exhaust tone at all. Was originally looking to buy a set more like the OEM oval dual tips, or Camaro rectangular, but settled on these instead.

Hey Sprucegoose where did you get your resonated exhaust tips?

Bought them on Ebay, for $66 + shipping. B) Here is a pic of them.

Post a pic of them when you have it all installed. I'd be interested in seeing how they look. Almost time for me to change it all up also.

Spruce.. I have those exact same tips on my car... They do look good. What size pipe are you going to use? I went with the 3" high flow catcon all the way back to the split. TOO lound on my sts... Highway speed it resonates so loud you cant have conversation with people in the back seat.. This is with a resonator cutting most of it down. I would recomend NOT going with the 3". Most everyone else loves theirs with the 2 1/2"... Also my gas mileage went down... Just some FYI..

BTW whats up with the name? You a pilot? Mike D

...quick and funny story...well on the way home Tuesday afternoon I remembered that my mufflers would be coming in soon...so as i approached the driveway of my house i glanced at m porch and nothing... :( maybe tomorrow i said...didn't matter because i don’t even have the money for the install and tips yet.

So i open my front door and poof :o there they are sitting right in front of the door. Now the funny thing is i don’t know who the hell put it there  both my parents were at work and when they got home they didn’t say a word...never told me "oh did you get you package?” Or a “ What is it?”

And let me tell you, the box it came in was gigantic!

...BTW my parents are real curious about that kind of stuff and what goes on around the house, that’s why I’m so surprised. Im still wondering who put it in the house: unsure: UPS?

Cad STS,

Yeah, those are nice tips too. Have never seen that style tip before. Are those chrome or stainless? It is kind of nice to add a new flair to your ride to personalize sometimes... Can't believe that UPS would actually set the package inside your door though. I'm sure there is an explaination!

Mike D.,

I am going with 2 1/4 Dynomax's as that is what these tips are. My pipe size after the Y-split in the back is only 2", so I will have to adapt to the 2 1/4 there. <_< Hope that it isn't quite as loud as you describe yours is, 3" surely would add to that! :o

No, I'm not a pilot. My brother is though... He is a career man in the USAF and just got promoted to AF1 crew in Washington D.C.! Myself, I've always been a kind of aviation nut, especially military jets. For some reason, when I got this big green Eldo that screen-name just seemed to pop into my head! Always was facinated by the original Sprucegoose though. What an enormous plane that was, and to only make one single puddle jump a few feet of the ground!

Will definitely post pics of mine exhaust after the install! Good luck on yours to Cad STS! B)

Congrats to your brother.. Big accomplishment to get on with them. I am an instructor down in Daytona (Embry Riddle). I was going to go military but at 6'3" fighters were out of the question.. So it is off to the airlines soon.

The 2 1/4" should be good. I think when I get some more money I am going to switch the main pipe back down to 2 1/2". It just gets annoying on the highway and I do alot of driving (18,000 miles since august).

Enjoy the sound.. MD
