winterset
I was reading Bruce's post, and I just wanted to get this out. My car is 11.5 years old. I never changed any bulbs in the front (headlights, markers, directional bulbs etc). has anyone else had this luck. I pretty much only owned 1 car previous to this (a Delta 88), and I was changing headlights, almost as much as I was changing mufflers & tailpipes. I have never changed either on this car, & I'm so happy. However, that little bulb in the back brake light burned out about 3 times. I hate when I see that burned out on caddys. - everyone please check yours!!! - it throws off the symmetry at night.
Cadillac Jim
I've had side marker bulbs go but never headlinght, taillight, turn signal, parking light, or stop light bulbs. I do have a running light out now that I need to get to, but I rarely use those except in fog. The car has 130K+ miles. I changed the headlight bulbs to Sylvanial Silver Star at 100,000 miles. The high beams, which are used at 3/4 power for the daytime running lights, showed some signs of age, in that there was some blackening of the bulb near the filaments. -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars. JohnnyG
I, like Jims_97, changed my headlights to Sylvania Silverstar bulbs a few years back. At the time there was a question about how long they would last, some speculating that they'd be good for a year or two at best. Mine are still fine, and I like them a lot. Oddly enough, I just noticed an advertisement for them on this website. Go ahead and check them out, particularly if you feel that your headlights are getting a little "tired". Never underestimate the amount of a persons greed.
thu
I never changed the headlamps or front indicator lamps on my 1993 Deville. It was 13 years old. I replaced a tail-lamp, the left rear side-marker lamp, and maybe the glove compartment lamp. That was it. I never replaced any other lamp on the car. 2003 Seville STS 43k miles with the Bose Sound, Navigation System, HID Headlamps, and MagneRide 1993 DeVille. Looks great inside and out! 298k miles!
