eyarman
All, I need some help I have a 95 Cadillac Seville SLS. And within the last two-three months my car has been acking really funny. When I start the car it idels to over 2000 RPM put it in Reverse and it goes down to 1500 RPM. When I go to take off the car stuters like it is not able to go. It will run fine once warm and going until I'm at a stop ligt or stop sign. Once stopped the idel jumps from 1500 to 0 never dies but is very odd to me. Just had my oil changed and had all the carbon blown out by Jiffy Lube. $117 it cost. The guy there said this would take care of it sounded like I just had some carbone build up. Well it didn't work. Now since then I have fille my tank up with gas over $90 and I'm almost on E. I only drive to and from work which is about 30 miles a day and I have gone through two ful tanks of gas what is the deal here? Some one told me it was the spark plugs and others told me it was the fuel pump, what woul cause all this to happen? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ranger
I would suspect the ISC motor also. Does it ratchet when you shut down? You should been able to hear it as well as see the gas pedal jumping if it does.
PAUL T
I would also check the Fuel Pressure Regulator(FPR). You have to remove the manifold cover to do this on a 95. There are 12 bolts that hold the cover down. Find the FPR, rear drivers side under the cover, with the nipple stuck up. Turn key on to presurize the system, if gas spews from the FPR change it. Do not start the car with the cover off it will rev up uncontrolled.
