amber
My Service Engine Light on 98 Deville. I have checked the codes before but can't remember how. Page http://www.caddyinfo.com/readingcodes.html does not include the 1998 Deville. I know I have gotten instructions and help here before although I could not find my old posts. Any help on pulling my codes and then resetting the codes would be appreciated. Thank you.
Ranger
If the link you posted does not match your dash configuration (INFO, RESET & OFF) buttons, the you have the older configuration. Simultaneously press and hold the OFF & WARMER buttons.
amber
I have checked the codes. I have the following: P0404, 0463,0603,1520 all history. ACM 1341 Current PZM 2550. Should I reset the codes and if so, how? Thank you.
Ranger
P0404 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Open Position Performance P0463 - Fuel Level Sensor Circuit High Voltage P0603 - Control Module Long Term Memory Reset P1520 - Transmission Range Switch Circuit B1341 - Air Mix Door Two Movement Fault B2550 - Storage Mode Entered (Backup Lamps Control Circuit) P0404 is the likely cause of the SES light. EGR valve most likely needs a cleaning. For future reference, you can find the DTC definitions here. http://myweb.accessus.net/~090/dtcobd2.html Clear them and see what returns. After the DTC's have been displayed answer no to the prompts till you see CLEAR ALL CODES? Then answer yes. When in the diagnostic mode HIGH FAN = YES and LOW FAN = NO The more I think about it, you may not see CLEAR ALL CODES (that may be for the 2000+). If not, you will have to clear each section separately. If that is the case, when you see PCM?, answer YES. Then answer NO til you see CLEAR PCM CODES? Then do the same for ACM & PZM codes.
