rwjiudice
My first post... but I've read pages 250-400+ and love this forum. I've learned a lot and confirmed even more! Here's the deal: I had a 1995 STS. Ran it up to 265,000 miles. I kept meticulous records of both the dealer service and my own hands on service. Used Mobil 1 oil. No major problems in 12 years! I loved that car! Of course I have a heated garage, epoxy floor with a drain. Gotta love it when working on or detailing my car. However, after 250k + miles, it started showing the same problems as my own body...... every rubber bushing shrunk til it was as noisy and loose jointed as me! Not to mention the enging dripped oil like a busted faucet. Shocks were so bad that if driven over a dead mouse the car would jump sideways. Time to put a bullet in the grill of the old girl. NOW... My mother in law got a new sts last month. And (because I'm her favorite son-in-law???) she GAVE me her 1993 Seville! It has a whopping 25,600 miles on it! Yup, "littlt old lady who only drove it to church and shopping" !!!! True! Driven less than 2,000 miles per year. What a gem! (Her and the car). Before I sold my 95 at auction, I did a few "swaps".... Swapped rear view mirror (compas), rear fold down arm rest (95 had cup holders), Serius Sat radio, etc etc..... I will miss 2 items that my 95 had... heated seats (darn, at my age they were nice) and lack of traction control. Other than that, I'm feeling pretty lucky. (Got $800 at auction for my 95 .... 'bout what I expected) Now I'm studying up on the 4.9L engine. I pretty much had the N* details memorized. As I run into problems I'll be posting here. This is a great site... Cadillac is a great car. Dick J

Dick J since it was driven by a little ol'lady and only has 26,000 miles, i would give it a mini tuneup ... by that i mean do 5 or 6 WOT's or until the black smoke clears ... cat
