BodybyFisher
If it is not throwing a code it might be a bad electrical connection at the compressor or a blown fuse. TDK
jessewright, If the shop did not reset the diagnostic codes when the problem was fixed earlier, then it might not show a similar problem. I would take it back to the same shop to begin with and go from there. Any good shop will stand by its work. Therefore, you might have your answer quickly, (crappy workmanship). There may be a few things you can do anyway beforehand to be somewhat informed: Is the bigger pipe, (the suction) going into the compressor getting cold to the touch with the A/C on? You should also hear the compressor attempting to engage , unless the refrigerant charge is already lost, or some other code is locking out the system. Sometimes disconnecting/reconnecting the battery (clearing some hardware lockouts) can help to figure out what works for a bit, until tripped out again. Did the shop fix any other A/C issues or leaks at the time, clear/recharge the system or inspect/change-out any other parts, such as the evaporator orifice, etc? Finally, you can always hope for Kevin W. to answer this post... Add power to leave problems behind. Most braking is just - poor planning.
