rofsts
This is bit off topic, but some of the folks here that know Cadillac dealership operations may shed some light or find this interesting. The dealer in Atlanta, Ga that my STS came from and use regularly for all service except tires, currently has (on web site) 33 no less, almost new '07 STS's, over 20 have 6K or less miles, they are in "used" catagory, this can't be "trade in's", are they GM cars that have been stored up somewhere ??? Some are "Certified", I would think great deals could be struck here, is about one year too early for me (perfer the '08's, if this same thing happens next near with '08's I will go crazy like the kid in the candy store ! Barry94
Here in Canada if a dealer has a "bunch" of one year old units, with varying mileage, then they likely came from an auction, usually rentals. However, an STS is not your typical rental car. Another source is GM owned/employee driven cars. This is the time of year they would be getting the '08 replacements. It's possible they are lease returns, however, that many in a one year period would be odd. As you say, likely some good deals. One of the local dealers here still has a new '06 STS on the lot. I didn't like the color or options, which would likely explain why it's still there. kens96
Check and see if they were ever titled. Some places use to call them "Brass Hats." These cars were used as demos and dealer owned courtesy cars that were not titled. Best of both worlds ...new car interest rates and warranties at used car prices. Once bought a Nissan Stanza that way and it was a great deal.
Maximln
I bet that most of them are the base models. Since Atlanta is such a big city, I bet there is some place around there that does rent STS's. That would explain why there are so many. You might even check with the dealership itself. Many luxury dealerships sell cars to local rental agencies, usually the one that the dealership uses, and then those vehicles are "rented" to under warratny service customers by the agency but the dealership foots the bill. Then after so many miles or a certain time period, the agency then sells the "used" cars back to the dealership. They can then be certified and resold.
