WarrenJ
Okay, maybe some of you know I'm looking for a new steed. It's close now. And getting closer. Where do I get the test product that tells me the coolant has/has not combustion products in it? Is this available at a "general" parts store, or must I go elsewhere? Cadillac Jim
A couple of years ago when I was trying to nail my overheating problem I found that it can be had at auto parts stores. Onee problem is that combustion products test strips and solution go out of date after six months, and few far suburbs auto parts stores would sell it off the shelf by then. Get it mail order. Another problem is that test strips can test for coolant, anti-corrosion capability, and pH, but not combustion by-products, so if the owner changes the coolant in trying to solve the problem a car with head leakage may look OK with a coolant test strip. You need a solution to test for combustion by-products. A couple of links I turned up on a search: http://www.midwayautosupply.com/pc-14182-4...trips-2039.aspx http://www.handsontools.com/store-products...ector_1285.html -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars. WarrenJ
Okay, I spotted this newly listed 2001 Diamond White ETC gem Saturday evening. It was described as "showroom" with 47K miles and was near my home. When I phoned on Sunday morning I was told it had been sold Saturday afternoon. To make matters worse, the S.O.B. bastard that bought it was named "Warren." God, apparently, is unhappy with me. Arghh! I left my name and phone number with the dealer. Regards, Warren Oh yeah, I knew that two doors is your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd requirement. When I cruised thru the used car (or was it "Previously Owned"?) side of a Cadillac dealer here in the Atlanta 'burbs, there was not one Eldorado to be seen. But that STS-V caught my eye. Big time.
