weephee
I took my seville in today to have the onstar upgraded from analog to digital and was told the parts necessary to do the upgrade are on back order. The service manager said it may take up to 3 weeks to get them. If you intend to upgrade before the analog service is discontinued on Jan 1/08 you might want to get in now. Logan
Ok...I'm confused.. This is the second little tidbit in the last day or so I've seen about OnStar 'updates'. My understanding is 2001 and older systems cannot be updated. You can go to the OnStar website and enter your VIN. I don't use OnStar, but I am interested. Has some hardware been released? Go to this link to enter your VIN and vehicle coverage: http://www.onstar.com/us_english/jsp/digital_transition.jsp Logan Diagnostic LLC www.airbagcrash.com www.ledfix.com www.ledfix.com/yukontaillightrepair.html www.ledfix.com/ledreplacements.html www.ledfix.com/j42385toolrental.html
weephee
Sorry, I don't understand the confusion. If your vehicle is eligible for the onstar update from analog to digital you must take your vehicle in to a GM dealer to have some of the hardware physically changed. The equipment needed to do this is back ordered at least 3 weeks in Canada. I believe only late year model 2002 and newer can be upgraded and eldorados of any year can not be changed, at least that is my understanding. JimD
It's clear to me that weephee is referring to upgrading the OnStar electronics in his 2002 STS to digital. But I have been wrong before today. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE !
Logan
It's clear to me that weephee is referring to upgrading the OnStar electronics in his 2002 STS to digital. But I have been wrong before today. I saw "2000 Eldorado ECT" I did not see ", 2002 Blk/Blk STS". Makes sense now...
