SIXXDOGG
Good evening. I recently had my oil sensor pressure thingy changed.....(I saw it for myself...it was wet...so it was time to change it he said.....40$ and I was good to go) I also wanted to know why...my car never tells my that it is low on oil....It takes 7.5 liters to put it almost on MAX when I have an oil change...I use mobil 1 10w30 Ext Performance Now I am barley on the add line....like right at the end of the stick....still no warning telling me to add or check oil.... When does this lite or warning come on? Thanx so much Nick
Ranger
You'll get the warning just after it drops off the dipstick (about 2 qts low).

JimD
Good evening. I recently had my oil sensor pressure thingy changed....Oil pressure is one thing. ....Now I am barley on the add line....like right at the end of the stick....still no warning telling me to add or check oil....Oil level is a different thing. There are two sensors; one for oil pressure and another for oil level. The oil pressure sensor will turn on an oil-can-shaped red lamp on the DIC. The oil level sensor will turn on a DIC message at engine start when the oil level is down approximately 2 quarts. And down 2 quarts (more or less) drops the oil off the bottom of the dip stick.
